Hydroponics

# Introduction

Akarshak Hydroponics is a Panchkula based MSME registered firm since 2017. The company conducts training programs on Indoor Hydroponic farming as well as Commercial level farming and also provides consulting for setting-up Indoor / terrace / rooftop based Hydroponic systems.

Hydroponics is an highly advanced soil-less technique of growing vegetables in a nutrient rich water. The water with required nutrients added to it, continues circulating in a closed room system, the system made of PVC pipes or PVC channels. The seedlings of the vegetable plants are transplanted into the wholes provided in PVC channels / pipes. The roots of the plants remain dipped in the nutrient rich water, from where the plants take the required nutrients and thus grow very fast.

Different Hydroponic technologies: There are various types of different techniques available for hydroponic farming as stated below:

    • NFT (Nutrient film technique)
    • DWC (Deep water culture)
    • FRS (Floating raft system)
    • Dutch bucket system.
    • Grow bag systems.
    • Aeroponics
    • Aquaponics.

Amongst all these techniques, NFT (Nutrient Film technique) is the most popular and extensively used for growing Green leafy vegetable. There are 50 different varieties of Green leafy Vegetables which can be grown through this technique.

The Growbag and Dutch-bucket systems are also equally popular and used for growing food plants and vine plants. The DWC and FRS systems are used primarily for ornamental plants to grow inside your drawing room.

Advantages of Hydroponic farming vs Traditional farming

Hydroponic farming has many advantages over traditional farming as below:

    1. As the same water continues flowing in the closed loop system, the water requirement comes down to 10% only.
    2. As it is a soil-less technique with vertical multilevel arrangement, the labour requirement also reduces to 10% only.
    3. It being a multilevel farming, the space requirement gets reduced to 1/6th only with six level arrangement.
    4. The cultivation is done inside a polyhouse based closed set-up in climate controlled environment, therefore we can grow all the off-seasonal crops round the year. With off seasonal growing of vegetables, we can get high selling price.
    5. As the technique is soil-less so there are no soil transmitted diseases, and as very less quantity of water is used so we can use RO water, hence there are also no water transmitted diseases, in such way the produce is disease free.
    6. Through indoor Hydroponic technique, you can make use of your terrace or roof top or any unused room in your house, in this way you can grow your own vegetables at your home.

Training and Consulting (Hydroponics)

We conduct training programs on Indoor and Commercial Hydroponic farming, our programs are offline at Panchkula site. The program with duration of 16 Hrs. involve 50% of lecturing and 50% of practical with lab work at site on our lab equipment. The fees for this program is Rs. 12,000/-.

But due to some unavoidable circumstances, our training programs on Hydroponic farming are kept on hold. We are likely to start these programs again from the year of Jan./Feb. 2025.

For inquiry about the programs, may send a WhatsApp message on our business no.: 7428496656.

We give consulting for commercial Hydroponic farming, but we don’t do any project work.
